BOB BEASLEY - (Instructor: Mr. James Toney) Mr. Beasley started karate at Southeast Dallas YMCA under Mr. Mike Steen in 1966. He was promoted to 1 st Degree Black Belt by Allen Steen at the Texas Karate Institute in Arlington , on July 14, 1974. He trained under Mike Steen, Skipper Mullins, Charles Armstrong, and David Archer. Mr. Beasley was the AOK “Instructor of the Year” in 1984. He was also the AOK Northern Region “Instructor of the Year” in 1994 and 1995. Mr. Toney awarded Mr. Beasley his 6 th Degree Black Belt on December 5, 2004,

Mr. Beasley served as head instructor of the East Texas State University karate class from 1972-1974. He was also head instructor of the Mount Pleasant Karate Club 1972-1973. During this time he commuted to his Wednesday night class at the Southeast Dallas YMCA and served as head instructor there from 1969 to until it closed its doors in 2001. He was head instructor of the White Rock / Lake Highlands YMCA from 1992 to 1999. Currently, he is chief instructor of the Beasley Karate Program, president of the Amateur Organization of Karate (AOK) and co-producer of the United States Karate Championships.

Mr. Beasley received a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Pre-Law) from East Texas State University (1973). Juris Doctor Degree (Law) from S.M.U. (1977). He is the Chief Municipal Judge for the City of Garland , Municipal Judge for the cities of Sachse and Crandall and Assistant Municipal Judge for the City of Mesquite . In 2004, Mr. Beasley was awarded the “Municipal Judge of the Year” for the state of Texas . His family includes wife; Margaret, and children; Amanda and Ben. Hobbies include karate, history, and genealogy.
